Freelance writer Lola Somerville has recently written an expose of the media giant where she had worked. It is not quite chick lit. Her friends who were writing the real chick lit were suddenly dropping dead. Lola was almost jealous...why couldn't she get that sort of attention?

Lola begins a quiet investigation. This leaves her trying to dodge the concerns of her new husband. Her suspicions move from feminists to boyfriends of the deceased to the mysterious ŒReader Guy¹ who keeps turning up at the homicide sites. Lola is hoping to become bait herself if she can get enough attention for her book. Of course she misjudges the real criminal. In the end she cleverly signals husband and best friend to come to her rescue.

This book is a funny background to the writing game and to mom - daughter issues and best friend angst. Harris writes an amusing tale of the book world and the many forms of friendship and love.
