Five years ago, someone murdered singing superstar Colette. The case was never solved. Debbie Gunther looks similar to the late singer and has talent of her own. Colette’s management team decides to launch Debbie as a Colette impersonator. They travel to Las Vegas’ Crystal Place Casino where Debbie will entertain.

However, Debbie worries that someone is stalking her ever since she started to impersonate Colette. Upon arrival at the casino, she receives a strange, innocent-sounding yet ominous note. Next Debbie receives calls threatening that she will join Colette soon. Reporter Dan Springer of Star World Magazine interviews Debbie and the two click. As their love grows, she turns to him for help and a permanent commitment. Dan does everything to try to keep her safe from an unknown assailant, but his past will not allow him to commit to anyone.

WHEN COLETTE DIED is a very entertaining romantic mystery. The story line is filled with tension as the lead couple struggles with their growing need for one another and uncovering the identity of a killer before Debbie becomes a statistic. Fans who enjoy a romantic female in danger tale will fully gain pleasure from L.C. Hayden’s well-written novel.
