In Arizona Ali Reynolds is trying to start a new life after losing both her husband and her job as a TV newsperson. The divorce is about to be settled and her husband Paul set to marry his eight month pregnant girlfriend the very next day. Yet he doesn¹t show up for the divorce hearing so everything is put on hold.

Ali has become a blogger to help work out her feelings. Response from readers seems to help take the place of lost friends. But soon Ali¹s missing husband will leave her in an escalating tangle of suspicion and danger. Her family and Dave Holman, a friend who happens to be a homicide detective, all arrive in LA to help. But it seems they have just put themselves in danger as well.

Jance always writes a well-plotted novel with engaging characters and page turning suspense. With a number of twists the story ties up all loose ends with Ali surviving to face the next book in this new series.
