This is a three-character novel, set in what could be Stillwater, Minnesota. Mason Brooks invents a dream machine that accurately predicts the future. He uses it to seduce and impress a beautiful woman, Monica Westfield. He also uses it to acquire great wealth. Unfortunately Brooks' dreams also predict the looming presence of Paul Fontana a threat to Brooks' life and circumstances. Greed, obsession, sex and jealousy are all present. The book is reasonably clean and is well-paced, but it is hard to find anything likable about any of the main characters. In its favor, WUD the book is pretty well written, the core idea is very interesting, but I like books in which there are some redeeming features about at least one of the characters. A pretty negative view of life here.
