Lacy Fields is a high end decorator in Los Angeles. When Lacy shows client Cassie Crawford around her newly decorated penthouse, Cassie suddenly collapses and dies from poison. Suspects include Cassie’s husband Roger, Lacy herself, and Lacy’s best friend Molly Archer who is infatuated with Roger.

Lacy is busy with her home life which includes three kids and a plastic surgeon husband who tolerates her detection “hobby”. After all, he was once suspected of murder but Lacy helped solved that crime and absolved him. This time the entire family is working to help Lacy.

I happen to like a book with strong characters but these are sometimes well done, sometimes a bit off the mark. And the author’s habit of brand-name dropping soon becomes tedious. Still. if you enjoy a peak at how some bits of Hollywood live, you might find this book enjoyable.
