Belinda Lawrence suddenly finds herself as a stand-in for a movie star. There is plenty of excitement to be found on the set of the filming of a Restoration drama on location at the historic Jacobean mansion, Ham House in Surrey.
Belinda has just returned from a visit to Australia. Belinda’s partner Hazel Witby’s newest love interest is Tim Hindley, a young film editor. Hazel has some silver out on loan for use on the set of the film that Tim is editing. Belinda joins Hazel and is offered a job as stand-in for the star.
Belinda’s life is currently in turmoil. She loves her cottage in Bath with the beautiful garden that draws visitors from all over. Her love interest Mark Sallinger is pressing Belinda for a wedding date. Belinda’s visit to Australia has reunited her with a former flame, Brad Delaney, and Brad follows Belinda back to England. Belinda is in turmoil and a good mystery is just what the doctor ordered to get her mind off her personal problems.
When people start dropping dead on the set Belinda and Hazel plunge right in to attempt to solve the mystery.
There is plenty of action in Bloody Ham as well as some interesting history. Bloody Ham is the third book in the Belinda Lawrence series and by far the best yet in this reviewer’s opinion. The characters are interesting and fun and the story line is good.
