At nineteen, Belinda Lawrence moved from Australia to England, where she looked up her fatherıs aunt. Not feeling particularly welcomed, she did not visit again, the relationship limited to exchanging Christmas greetings. Then Aunt Jane summoned Belinda to her house on a small village outside of Bath. When Belinda arrived she found her aunt at the foot of the stairs, several days dead.

A week later Belinda discovers that she has inherited the cottage and a substantial sum of money. Belinda decides to move from London to the cottage and renovate both house and garden. Something is wrong, though, in Milford. Everyone seems to want to buy the cottage and Belinda is faced with break-ins and even another death in the cottage,

Kavanaghıs experience in film editing may explain a little flatness in the writing, The English village background is well done, but I was less happy with the sometimes unreasonable behavior of some characters, or with the ending with its touch of 'woo-woo'.
