Attorney Peter Moss is warn out from malpractice suits. Especially depleting the lawyer is his recent loss in a case he filed against Dr. Wallace Bondurant. The results of that case still haunt Peter three years later.

To his own shock, Peter accepts Terry Winter as a client. Terry is dying from breast cancer and has accused Dr. Bondurant of negligence because he failed to conduct a biopsy when she first visited him. However, the ideal case unravels because Peter has a poor client. Terry simply vanishes to Mexico before her twelve-year-old daughter persuades her to come back and fight for what is right. Now that he has his client in tow, all Peter has to do is overcome the insurance, medical, and legal folks who all want him buried.

HARMFUL INTENT is an excellent medical-legal thriller that will elate readers for its crisp, relevant story line. Peter is an excellent individual, whose transformation from self loathing idiot to a modern day Clarence Darrow is handled with dexterity and believability. For the most part, the secondary players add depth to the tale. However, the judge seemed way too prejudicial in his overseeing of the malpractice suit, which in turn makes Baine Kerr's well-designed storyline even juicier.
