Vampire Edward Ridgemont converted Texas Ranger Cade "Cowboy" McKinnon into one of his kind expecting the law enforcement official to obey his commands. Edward and one of his minions Gerhard Hirsch kill the Chase couple, but Cowboy breaks the compelling obsession and refuses to comply with the order to murder the twelve year old daughter Valerie or her babysitter. Thus he saved their lives.

As an adult Val still dreams of her heroic savior though she thinks of him as her nightly erotic fantasy lover; Cade shares those same fantasies. No longer under Edward’s control, Cowboy learns that his “mentor” plans to harm Val. He will do anything including truly dying for her or even converting her to keep his beloved human safe as Edward and Gerhard are coming for Val. Cade kidnaps Val, who is stunned that her dream lover hero is one of her enemies.

THE FOREVER KISS is an excellent vampire romance that grips the audience from the opening sequence until the final confrontation. The action-packed story line works because readers will believe in the supernatural and not just vampires. The heroine is a wonderful protagonist as she struggles with her pedestal savior being a member of the evil species that killed her parents. However, Cade is the reason the audience will appreciate Angela Knight’s wonderful tale as he has to persuade his beloved that he may be of a malevolent race but is her champion in the upcoming war with Edward the paragon of evil.
