According to author notes at the end of the book, this was orginally part of a longer book divided into two sections, with the first part EARTHQUAKE WEATHER, published on its own a few years ago.

Perhaps this would have been a more enjoyable read if I had been able to read the other portion first, but I found this a slow going affair.

Two acquaintances in 1990's Los Angeles undertake to film a movie on a very limited budget. As an aftermath of events in the first book, they are subject to near criminal harassment by an agent who used to represent them and/or one of their friends. Their attempts to gain financing for the film project are not the most white collar of undertakings, either.

Finally cracking under the strain, one of the two hires a hit man - and things which were not in good shape to start with go downhill from there.

I found the action rather fragmented, and hard to follow. Characters drift in and out of the action, leaving me turning pages back to catch up on exactly who was who.
