Mazurka is one in a series featuring Gus LeGarde, a music professor. Gus has just married his second wife Camille and plans a honeymoon trip to Europe. They will be accompanied part way by Siegfried, twin brother to Gus' first wife who is deceased. Sig will travel as far as Germany to meet a dying great aunt.

Arriving first in Paris, they become inadvertently involved in a violent clash with a Neo Nazi group. Sig is injured, but what is worse becomes a focus of this growing violent group. Leaving Sig in Germany, Gus and Camille travel to Vienna where suddenly they are threatened by the same people.

There is suspense and twists to come. Lazar does a fine job of bringing the reader into foreign places. The descriptions of Paris, Vienna and small European towns in between are nearly as good as a visit there.
