A body is found in the park, and detectives from the 87th Precinct are sent to investigate, but preconceptions can really get in your way, and this case will prove it. When detectives Carella and Brown begin their investigation they discover that the body of the young girl was a nun. This shakes everyone up. And the more they investigate, the weirder the tale of a young girl's life becomes.

This was my very first "87th Precinct" novel, and now I am WAY behind! I've heard raves about Ed McBain's police procedurals before . . . and now I know why! Fast, clipped, and decisively written, this is a true gem, and if the others in the series are anything like this one, I have a long line of books to add to my list. Mr. McBain obviously has earned every one of his awards
