Don't let the title fool you; there are no ghosts in this book, only a ghostwriter. There is seduction, however.
Lee Bartholomew is the woman in question, described by boyfriend Tommy as neurotic, difficult, unpredictable but always interesting. Their relationship goes back eight years but the reclusive Lee is not ready to sacrifice her quiet writing time for the messy, loud presence of Tommy. Visits are OK, moving in is not.
As the book opens, Tommy and Lee have slept through a nearby house fire that kills a woman. Lee is about to begin ghosting a book by a popular soap star, Selma Walker. As problems mount with Selma and her manager Buzz, another fire occurs in Leešs summerhouse and another death.
This well written book is as much about relationships as about mystery. The characters are varied and interesting with complicated bonds. As the book progresses, people came together or split apart while the menace builds slowly. In the end the mystery is solved and relationships healed. An enjoyable read.
