The sun's shining, the air is fresh but Kyle is running late for her new assignment as a temp at the Drip Not Paint Distributors. She barely makes it to work on time after cursing traffic and a slow elevator. This is another typical job for Kyle but Christine, the Human Resources Director, needs the manager's job filled asap, overlooking Maria who has been the acting manager for months. Maria lacks the all mighty paper (degree) which she's attending school to obtain. Kyle meets her co-workers and learns that she needs to read and edit the Human Resources manual. The next day, Kyle's spirits are lifted as it's one more day closer to moving to her new condo, the sun's shining and she's right on schedule. In fact she's early and decides to stop at the Cafe for coffee on her way to work, Kyle accidently spills it all over herself and her car. Pulling into a restaurant's parking lot, Kyle starts cleaning up the mess after noticing a BMW already parked. Thinking it's an employee preparing for the lunch crowd, Kyle ignores the car. Another car enters the lot and the driver gets out to see if Kyle's ok. After helping her clean the mess, he spots the BMW and walks over. Thinking the driver is asleep, the man pounds on the car, only to see that the man has been shot. Finding the dead body is only the beginning of Kyle's assignment. Only Jake Prince's Native American, extremely good looks and possible interest in Kyle keep this assignment from being the assignment from hell. Is Prince the "devil in disguise" or Kyle's prince of a guy.

The author's delightful sense of humor keeps you reading this book wishing the pace would pick up. There is too much attention to the inner workings of "Drip Not Paints Mfg." and not enough of a hook to satisfy me.
