It’s been a while since my bookshelves have held a new book by Mr. Miller. His last book, THE LAST FAMILY, was a terrific read. And if waiting this long between books means another book that good, so be it.

Miller has a wonderful knack for writing about gangsters. Fast paced and written in a way that demands to be read in a hurry. This book seems to have it all, Justice department agents, tragedy, hit men turning states evidence, angry mob bosses and lots of action. Marshal Winter Massey has suffered loss, and while dealing with guilt of his own he is put in charge of protecting a witness that a lot of people are trying to kill. And some of these people have a long reach, making it hard for Massey to know who to trust.

Pick you adjective to describe action, and it will fit this book. A great thriller.
