The book opens with a brief glance into the mind of an international assassin and moves on to Grant Reynolds' first day on his new job. Jill St. Claire, Dale Bailey and Grant Reynolds are all "field representatives" who are responsible for investigating crimes against Americans in Paris.

Grant's initiation into his new career is kicked into high gear when the granddaugther of a wealthy American is murdered and Grant recognizes the M.O. Grant soon realizes that they are dealing with the same individual who carried out a high-profile murder that he had investigated in his prior career as a Boston cop.

There are some interesting plot twists, and the reader has a difficult time deciding just who Grant can trust. Tension is added by bringing in Grant's old love interest as someone who currently works for the American billionaire whose granddaughter was murdered, and who wants to do everything possible to keep the investigation off himself.

With Grant hot on his trail, the Assassin makes several mistakes in a desperate attempt to salvage his reputation as a hit man. The resultant game of cat and mouse is exciting and full of surprises.

This is certainly not your typical novel of international intrigue. It follows it's own formula, making Blink of an Eye fresh and making the reader want more.
