Grant Mobielle has created a winning combination for a new series - mysteries with the automotive industry as a main backdrop - His first effort, Changing Lanes An Automotive Mystery is fast paced with great characters in addition to its unique plot.

As someone who has been a long time part of the automotive industry - family and self - I know the OTHER side to the business - the making of an automobile and the excitement of seeing that product come off of the production line - If you ever get the opportunity to tour an assembly plant, jump at it - you will be amazed -

Grant Mobielle is also in the business and he knows his stuff and brings that knowledge to life for the layman.

A distinguished automotive company has created a car that can literally drive itself and make the right decisions - all in the computer - you can talk to it, let it find your music, and if you are tired, you can program your destination and leave the driving to the car!

BUT - something is happening - there are a string of fatal accidents and all arrows point to the car's computer - the A8 RSCC module that houses the brains -

That can spell disaster to an automotive company, no matter how well established... But all testing and prototypes were perfect - what happened?

Tom Greenlea, newly retired AM employee, smells a rat and goes about trying to find the who, why and where of this mystery - before anything else dire happens -

The ruthless world of corporate sabotage, backstabbing and innuendos are all part of big business, and Mr. Mobielle deftly plays all sides- it will keep you guessing who is responsible until the thrilling conclusion -

Detroit is the backdrop for this novel - RenCen - Renaissance Center, and Cobo Center and darkened mysteriously threatening assembly plants all add to the atmosphere and plot.

Have you ever read Michael Crichton? He explains everything in detail and then you think you are an expert in that field - remember Timeline? After grasping the Quantum Physics, you feel you could also build a unit to time travel - Well, Mr. Mobielle also explains the automotive process and makes you comfortable that you can understand the auto industry - showing us how things are and we are able to work this mystery out in its environment -

Changing Lanes is full of feints, plot twists, adventure, and most of all, a great read. You will have a lot of fun figuring out - whodunit!
