I will tell you, right off the bat, this is one of the funniest books I have ever read. Laugh out loud, hurt your sides, tears down your face funny. Now that Ive gotten that out of the way&.
The mystery of what happened during Christs lost years is finally solved! Biff, Christs childhood pal, has been raised from the dead by a disgruntled angel to record for posterity what really happened in those years between birth and Messiahhood. Or Messiahness. Or& oh, never mind. You understand. Anyway, Biff sets pen to paper to write his own gospel. In modern times. In modern tongue. And what a crass tongue it is! It is a tale full of magic, long journeys, Magi, demons and lots of chicks. Oh, and Jew-do. You heard me! Biff is Joshuas (Jesus to you and me) best friend and is determined to help and protect him as the young Son of God comes to terms with his destiny. They travel across the East and encounter wise men that teach them about the mysteries of life. And wise women who teach Biff about & well, youd better read it for yourself.
Funny? Hell, yes. But also deep, thought provoking, and enriching. An instant classic I plan on re-reading as soon as I can get my hands on it again. It made me laugh. And it made me think. And, ye, it was good.
