What horrors could a parent possibly submit a child to that would twist his mind so horribly that he stalked and killed? Not only killed but mutilated in a fashion too horrible to think about. When you learn the truth you just might feel a bit of sympathy for the killer.

Bone Thief introduces the reader to Lieutenant John W. Driscoll whose duty it is to find this murderer and see that he is put away where he can never hurt another human being. Lt. Driscoll is fighting his own battles. His wife is in a coma and no doubt will never recover. His daughter was killed in the same car wreck that injured his wife. He is also battling his attraction to Sgt. Margaret Aligante his co-worker and close friend.

Lt. Driscoll and Sgt. Aligante are not letting their personal problems get in the way of their desperate search for the killer. The victims come from different walks of life. There seems to be no common thread in the killer’s choice of women to subject to his cruelty.

This is a book that grabs your interest from the very first page. You will be horrified at the descriptions of the victims and the murder scenes. But you won’t want to quit reading. When I finished Bone Thief I was ready to pick up another Thomas O’Callaghan novel as soon as possible.
