Annie Seymour has two interests in life...food and causing trouble. Well, four interests if you count Vinny and Tom, both vying for her attention, and she is having difficulty deciding between them. The trouble comes with her job as reporter for the New Haven Herald, as sometimes it is necessary to prod at sore spots to get the story. Losing two cars in a few days, one confiscated by police with a dead body in the trunk, its replacement in a crash caused by a hit-skip driver intent on causing Annie harm, seems excessive. Something is going very wrong in New Haven involving illegal immigrants, bees and the new police chief. Can Annie's aggressive reporting skills get the story before someone gets her? And how is her mother involved?

Karen Olson continues to improve her skills in this third book in the series. Annie is a strong, feisty protagonist, and the other characters all interesting, The plot dances around New Haven, first in one direction, then another, never dull. Bits of humor help leaven the story, keeping your interest throughout a great tale.
