A hunter in the Minnesota woods discovers the body of a young girl. Her head has been bashed in and her baby removed from her womb. Bernadette Saint Clare and Anthony Garcia of the FBI are called in to investigate. The girl is the daughter of Senator Magnus Dunton. Dunton is not a fan of the FBI and has spoken publically against the organization on many occasions. There is no reason to feel that Dunton will cooperate in the investigation.

On arriving at the scene Bernadette and Tony are told that an inverted pentagram was drawn on the girl’s forehead. When going to the small hospital in town to view the body they find someone has removed the pentagram.

Tony arranged for the two of them to stay at a cabin in the area owned by a friend of his. Bernadette has a special sight that sometimes enables her to see through the eyes of the murderer. Hopefully the quiet cabin in the woods will be just the place for this sight to work. Bernadette obtains a piece of the girl’s gown to study.

Bernadette and Tony soon find that the town is full of people that follow the Wiccan religion. Whether or not there is a connection between the Wiccan and this girl’s death is something they intend to find out.

Bernadette discovers a similar case that took place several years ago in a town not too far away from the present murder scene. She talks with an officer in that town and begins to see parallels between the two cases.

Blind Sight is the third Bernadette Saint Clare novel and each book gets better. With good detective work and the help of Bernadette’s sight, the puzzle of why these girls were murdered and who murdered them eventually is brought to light. The solution does not come easy and other people are hurt and killed before the answer is finally uncovered.
