A phone call took Kate Warner away from her front door just as her daughter Jenny got off the school bus. That would be the last time Kate would ever see her daughter alive.

Kate and Richard Warner’s lives are turned upside down when their daughter is kidnapped and found dead in nearby area. Friends and relatives gather to offer their support but when the chief of police starts throwing suspicion toward Richard all but a few friends turn away.

Kate is devastated by the idea that her husband could even be suspected of such a vile act and even though she knows he hasn’t been completely honest with her on a couple of occasions she feels strongly that he is innocent.

Police Chief Carl Leidecker informs the Warner’s that the kidnapper had to be someone that Jenny knew for her to get in the car so readily. The only clue was a piece of candy that was found in Jenny’s pocket. Kate determines that she is going to find the killer and remove all suspicion from Richard but she has no idea what a dangerous position she is placing herself in.

This book held my interest from page one and I changed my mind several times as to the identity of the kidnapper. The author throws a real curve towards the end of the book. If you like a good read full of suspense this book is for you.
