Dance of Death leaves you waiting impatiently for the next Agent Pendergast thriller.

Police Lt. Vincent D’Agosta was sure Agent Pendergast was dead. He saw no way possible that he could have survived. Vincent has moved in the Laura Hayward and started working again as a police officer in New York. He is slowly rebuilding his life. Suddenly he is summoned to 891 Riverside Drive, the mansion owned by Pendergast. He meets with Constance Greene-Pendergast’s ward and assistant. She shows him a letter from Pendergast asking that Vinnie take steps to stop his evil brother Diogenes from committing an unspeakable crime. The letter states, “If you are reading this I am dead”. The crime is scheduled to take place only days away.

The book brings back many characters from previous Pendergast novels. Pendergast’s friends are all in danger. Diogene’s will stop at nothing to make Pendergast pay for whatever hurt he has supposedly inflected on his brother.

You will enjoy this book more if you have read the previous Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child novels but enough of the background is given that you can enjoy this book even if you haven’t had the pleasure of reading the previous books.

The book is full of suspense and you won’t want it to end. And when it does you will wait anxiously for the next book.
