Class/Genre:   Mystery   Police Procedural
Series: John Rebus # 15

A Question of Blood begins with Inspector John Rebus in the hospital being treated for scalded or burned hands that supposedly happened when running bath water. However, Rebus comes under suspicion by internal affairs and his fellow officers because a small time criminal that had been stalking his partner and friend, Siobhan Clarke died in a house fire the same evening and Rebus was the last person seen with him.

While his superiors are investigating the death of Siobhan’s stalker, Rebus and Siobhan are asked to help investigate a school shooting. An Ex-Soldier has gone into a private school and shot three students, killing two before committing suicide. What seems relatively simply becomes much more complicated trying to determine the why of the crime.

This was my first Inspector Rebus novel and definitely will not be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the mystery and the characters. Therefore, I look forward to the earlier fourteen I have not read yet.
