Series: Nick Hoffman # 7
Perseverance Press, 2007, 211 pps.

Nick Hoffman enters the steam room at Michigan Muscle, a luxurious health club, and speaks to the only other person in the steam room and gets no response. Nick is shocked to discover that Vlado, a trainer at the club, is never going to speak again because he is dead.

This begins Nick’s investigation into Vlado’s death. Even though Nick is a teacher at the university, he is interested in solving crimes. His sidekick Juno, a very style conscious female, works with him on his investigation. Stefan Borowski, Nick’s companion, is depressed over the fact that his novels are not making the bestseller list and cannot really get excited over the fact that Juno and Nick are hot on the trail of a murder.

Hot Rocks is humorous, well written and has an ending that will surprise everyone.
