John and Sarah Jarad are newlywedís working on Nantucket. Sheís an artist, and heís the local police lieutenant. When Johnís great-uncle dies and leaves an unexpected bequest, Sarah begins to explore Johnís family history more deeply. She discovers the unsolved disappearance of Johnís younger brother years ago.

Everyone is surprised when out of nowhere, the long lost brother reappears. Can this be? Where was he? How did he disappear? There are so many unanswered questions.

As John and Sarah try to answer those questions, they also have to deal with the bequest. Could these things be related? Can they uncover the truth without bringing more heartache to his mother?

I had a hard time putting this book down. I kept reading another chapter to find out what happened. I really liked the characters and the setting. This was one of the best books Iíve read in a long time. I highly recommend it. But be sure you have time to read when you start it, you wonít want to put it down. Other things will just have to wait!
