J. D. Rhoades
Class/Genre: Mystery Thriller Hard Boiled
Series: Jack Keller # 1
Jack Keller served in the first Gulf War and is still plagued by bad dreams. As part of the aftermath of war, he is unable to resist plunging into action, as a futile attempt to come to terms with the tragic events he experienced in the gulf.
This tendency serves him well in his occupation as a bail bondsman. However, when a petty thief Keller is assigned to apprehend is also someone who cannot resisting plunging into action, and when the son of the man the petty thief robs also cannot resist plunging into action, Keller's normally routine job becomes a wild hair raising adventure.
Bodies pile up, and no one is very surprised when a Columbian drug cartel is drawn into the fray. Cops on both sides of the ethical spectrum tag along, some hoping to help Keller and others hoping to catch him in a huge mistake.
Rhoades is new to the suspense fiction scene. His first novel is very enjoyable. The action moves right along. I found the book hard to put down. Looking forward to more!
