Life can be troublesome at times and Harper Blaine, Seattle PI, no doubt had her share of problems just running her business and taking care of Chaos, her pet ferret. When Harper was assaulted and woke up in the hospital she was not immediately aware that she now had one foot in the normal world and the other foot in the Grey.
Suddenly her world is full of people and things she had only imagined in her ordinary life or read about in books. She finds out that she was dead for two minutes after the assault. This is enough time to change her life forever.
A doctor refers Harper to Mara Danzinger and her husband Ben for help in understanding the things she is experiencing. Ben is a teacher and Mara is a witch. Harper doesn’t believe in witches but before long she not only believes in them but also vampires, ghosts and even goes searching for a necromancer.
Harper soon finds that having a witch for a friend is not a bad thing. Having a vampire for a client doesn’t strike her as particularly unusual either.
Join Harper Blaine on her adventures in the grey. You will feel fear and wonder at the people she meets and the paths that she follows. And you will be holding your breath every time Harper slips into the Grey.
I can only hope that the author has another book coming up so I can read further adventures of Harper Blaine. I might even think about getting a ferret.
