'The Christmas Garden Affair' describes the adventures of Louise Eldridge, an expert gardener with her own television show, and, when needed, an amateur detective.

Louise is having some problems with a new gardener on the scene, the brassy and aggressive Bunny. Bunny has a television show which competes with Louise's, and also has business interests which are competing with the interests of many other members of the gardening community. Meanwhile, the wife of the President-elect has decided to choose native plants as her cause during her husband's presidency, and holds a party and conference to support her cause. Louise and Bunny are invited, of course, as are various other botanical experts, ranging from environmentalists to scientists to nursery operators to government experts. Naturally, there is a great deal of conflict and disagreement among the members of the group, This conflict is only increased by the stimulus provided by Bunny, who has been so active and controversial in the field. The inevitable murder and investigation follow.

This is an enjoyable cozy, entertaining and well-done.
