When Andy Carpenter takes on a Golden Retriever as a client you can expect a few smiles in the courtroom action. Rosenfelt¹s books are a lot of fun, but the action turns serious as he tries to get the dog¹s original owner out of jail. Richard Evans has been convicted of killing his girlfriend as well as his dog. Unfortunately the dog can¹t testify to what actually happened. That won¹t stop Andy from trying to get Richard sprung and reunited with his dog.

High powered and very nasty persons do not wish to see Evans¹ case reopened. With Andy and friends investigating, new and strange clues keep popping up but seem to make no sense and are no help to the case. With a twisty ending you will find this story entertaining, puzzling, nail-biting, amusing and always worth reading. Andy Carpenter is a winner.
