Before I read this book, I read "The Dandelion Murder" by Rebecca Rothenberg so that I could compare a book written by Rebecca Rothenberg versus this one which was completed by Taffy Cannon. I did like "The Tumbleweed Murders" better. I don't know if it was because it was later in Ms. Rothenberg's series or if some of Ms. Cannon came through.

This series stars Claire Sharples who is a Plant Pathologist with the University of California. When she gets lost heading out on a call, she meets Jewell. She gets to know her and the story of her life. When she finally makes her appointment, she and Ramon, her co-worker, find a skeleton.

Later after she tells Jewell about the skeleton, Jewell dies. Claire feels that Jewell may have known who the skeleton was. So Claire begins interviewing people in Jewell's past to try to find out who the skeleton was and ends up getting herself into a tough spot.

I wouldn't say this is a series I will run out and read any more of, but I did enjoy this book.
