Chelsea Hart, Stefanie Hyder, and Jordan McLaughlin were having the time of their
lives in New York City, celebrating Spring Break in a big way. Now it was time to
go back to school, but Chelsea just isn't quite ready to quit partying yet. So, she
stays for 'just one more' and sends her friends on to the hotel for a nap before the
plane home. Except that Chelsea never makes it back to the hotel or back to school.

NYPD Detective Ellie Hatcher [from Burke's Dead Connection] catches the case when she is out jogging - much to the disgust of her new Lieutenant. But, with her partner Detective James Rogan, she dives into the glittering night life of NYC. Then another young girl dies. But Ellie is the only one convinced of the similarity to Chelsea Hart - even when a prior victim's father calls to make another connection to a previous case, and with a dead detective's leads to a possible serial killer, no one wants to abandon the much easier suspect, Jake Myers.

I've been a fan of Alafair Burke since her first novel - and this young lady has come a long way! From Deputy District Attorney to teaching criminal law, she is already a master at dropping clues and ruining my sleep trying to stay awake long enough to rush to the end. I can second-guess some authors, but Burke always has another twist up her sleeve and her thrillers always fascinate, right up to the last page. MORE Ellie Hatcher, please!
