Taken as a young child by her mother, Jade remembers the abuse she suffered at the hands of cult leader, Solomon but not much of her life before. After a vicious attack, Rafael escapes with Jade to California. Jade who is a talented street artist sets up a stand on the streets. A chance sighting of a picture Jade created turns her world even more upside down. Two couples on vacation spot her work believing it is a picture of their long lost friend. Returning to Missouri they show the painting to Jade's father who hires excop, Luke Kelly, to find Jade. Upon returning to her father's home, Jade starts to overcome her distrust in men and starts to care about Luke. What should have been a happy reunion becomes a peril for Jade and Rafael.
A fast paced read with just enough romance to keep the midnight oils burning.
