Lucas Davenport is a fun Detective to read about. Sanford has created a wonderful series and it keeps getting better. I think this may be my favorite so far. Clara Rinker, hitwoman extraordinaire, is back, and though it sounds like a cliche, this time, she really is mad. She had made a new life for herself in Mexico, and some one came and messed it up in a large way. And now she wants revenge. The FBI calls in Lucas to help because no one has a better handle on Rinker. And Lucas’ fiance Weather is happy to let him go to St. Louis to help, because he’s making her crazy while they wait for the new house to be built. So we follow Lucas on the trail of this killing machine.

John Sanford has a reputation for thrilling books with a fast pace, and this one does not disappoint. It kept me up till it’s conclusion, which was not what I was expecting. It was kind of like riding in a Porsche that’s going 150 MPH while wearing a blindfold. Exciting, yet not having a clue where you are going. In other words, a great book.
