What a picturesque setting for a book. Kelly Flynn is living in a cottage in Colorado, which she inherited from her Aunt Helen. Kelly is a CPA and currently working out of her home and trying to figure out a way to stay in Fort Connor, Colorado forever. Her Aunt Helen’s former farmhouse has been transformed into House of Lambspun, a knitting shop with a café next door. Kelly routinely takes a break from her computer work to grab some coffee and knit. The author’s description of the yarn shoppe and the variety of yarns almost makes the reader feel like picking up some knitting needles.

When the knitting group is asked to volunteer to take a group of out-of-town knitters who are touring to visit the alpaca ranch owned by Vicki Claymore one of the regulars in the knitting group, Kelly immediately volunteers but when the tourists arrive at the Claymore ranch they find that Vicki has been brutally attacked and left to bleed to death.

When Vicki’s daughter Debbie comes to take care of her mother’s estate she hires Kelly to help with the books.

Although Vicki’s soon to be ex-husband is the prime suspect Kelly soon begins to have other suspicions.

The life Kelly is leading in Fort Connor with her knitting friends, her dog, her softball team are all too perfect to be true and Kelly soon finds that even in a perfect setting greed and murder can intrude.
