MAN EATER is an entertaining and irreverent look at a little corner of California. The part that we all like to make fun of. Not since Get Shorty havethe Hollywood back rooms gotten this treatment. When a junior V.P. at Velocity Pictures named Ronnie Deal and an ex -con/screenwriter named Ellis Langerford join forces to evade killers for hire, drug dealers, and exes all while putting together a deal for the biggest film since Titanic the reader is in for a treat(at this point the reviewer would like to apologize for sentences longer than a football field).

Ray Shannon is the nom de plume of Gar Anthony Haywood and his look at turn of the century L.A. is disturbing, hilarious, violent, and heart-warming all at the same time. A perfect read for a cold day. So get beyond the terrible cover art and treat yourself. We all deserve a good laugh about now.
