Jack Liffey insists that he’s not a PI. He finds missing children. However, he’s drawn into a search to find a missing Mexican woman against his better judgment. It’s a search which leads him into the seediest and saddest regions of LA, where politics matter more than people, and only those with money can get their voices heard. This is an exciting tale, with a great sense of place, and a really intriguing protagonist. The politics, and messages about social injustice got a bit wearing at times, but it’s a series which I will definitely read more of as the writing is excellent.
