Greer Sands and her son, Joshua, were both blessed with psychic gifts. Greer sees glimpses of things in the future and auras around people. Joshua’s gift is more in the present.

Speak of the Devil is set in Los Angeles at a time of year when the heat is nearly unbearable, the Santa Ana Winds are blowing fiercely and the threat of forest fire is constant. Greer and her friends live in a close-knit canyon community.

Greer is frightened by a vision she has while at her friend Jenny’s baby shower. She believes Jenny is in grave danger. Joshua also senses evil lurking and out to do harm to his new friend Simon.

A large development is also going up on nearby property. Speak of the Devil gives one a good view of what the community feels like when they have beautiful wildlife destroyed for the new development and the impact it has on various individuals. Some people welcome this new development and believe it will strengthen the community and help it grow while others are very strongly opposed to it. While trying to come to terms with this new development, the community is thrown into more trouble when an arsonist begins striking in the dry canyon region.

Greer, Joshua and her friends are all in the midst of the turmoil over the new development and the attacks of the arsonists that lead to murder. Will Greer and her son Joshua’s gifts be enough to save those they hold dear?
