A sorceress with moderate powers, an attitude, and an amulet. Born into a family of smuggles and thieves, with a combination of street smarts and magic spells, Raine can usually manage to take care of herself - not necessarily stay out of trouble, you understand - but at least stay alive and without earning the unwanted attention of the powers that be.

But Raine is a loyal friend and a seeker. When a friend in trouble asks for her help, Raine agrees . . . but with mental reservations that turn out to be all too accurate and then some!

This is a series I can't wait to see more of. A heroine who can hold her own and deliver straight lines with the best of them! I had a grin on my face through the entire book and lost sleep trying to find out what would happen next. A GREAT debut novel!
