Noah Braddock is anything but your typical private investigator. He's a laid-back guy with some interesting and rather dangerous friends who all but fell into his PI occupation and is content to stay because it allows him to live on a San Diego beach and surf every day. His past comes back to haunt him when Marilyn Crier, the mother of his high school flame, looks him up in order to hire him to find her daughter. Will Noah find just an older version of the girl he had loved or will he find that he never really knew Kate Crierr at all?
Noah Braddock's supporting cast is full of well-developed characters who evoke several strong feelings in the reader such as contempt, sympathy, respect, distrust, and admiration. Braddock is definitely the kind of friend I'd like to have my back.
The book is jam packed with full-throttle action, shoot 'em ups, and plenty of surprises. I've never surfed in my life, but Shelby had me wanting to hit the waves myself! The book ends on a very satisfying note but also leaves the reader wanting more, much more. This is going to be a mystery series you won't want to miss!
