When Rachael Fairchild decides to try for a hot air balloon world altitude record, her brother launches a big publicity campaign. But someone doesn¹t like it. Rachael is receiving threatening notes.

Ron Parker and sister Charlie are hired to find out who is responsible. Rachael¹s father is the main suspect. Of course it¹s not that simple. A tale of ego, infidelity and evil unfolds. Toward the end the action heats up with the women in serious danger. All this plays out against the fascinating background of the hot air balloon world.

As interesting as this story could be in parts, I was disappointed that the detectives spent so much time chasing red herrings and behaving in a less than professional manner.
