In Paradise, Ohio, population 2617, Josie Toadfern operates an inherited laundromat. She is also an expert on stains. Wanting to bring notice to her tiny town, she writes to a TV style maven suggesting a guest appearance. Be careful what you wish for.

Between laughs Josie has to deal with murders, tornados, runaways and hairstyles, as well as cousin Billy. She tears around the fields and small towns of southern Ohio, often chased by the chief of police, an old high school love now intent on giving her speeding tickets.

This wildly funny first novel is a welcome addition to the cozy family...a sort of Marx Brothers meets an evil Martha Stewart-type. Toadfernıs nickname from high school is Nosy Josie and you know what curiosity did to the cat. But of course Josie will have a few lives left at the end of this frolic. And you wonıt want to wait too long for her next adventure.

And for RAMmers, on page 40 there is a new addition to your sluice collection.
