This is a new event for me. I'm not generally a great fan of short stories. I like to get "into" characters and places. Sometimes, the longer the read, the better. But then, I read for escapism, so maybe that is part of the reason for my preferences. This anthology, from the LA Sisters in Crime, brought me up short. I didn't expect to enjoy it nearly as much as I did!

The first short-story is by Kris Neri [author of Revenge of the Gypsy Queen]. What a surprise! Nothing at ALL to indicate that it was 180° from what I expected. It was the same throughout the volume. Surprise endings. Twisted plots. Quirky characters. No two stories are remotely alike, and yet many of the stories are "how to commit murder and get away with it". Truly a great find! [and thank you, Kris!]

Most are new-to-me or never-before-published authors. I sincerely hope they continue writing!
