Jane Killian insisted the driver of the boat tried to kill her while she swam in the ocean. Everyone else thought it was a bad hit and run accident. Either way over the years Jane suffered the agony of several reconstructive operations. Eventually Jane found happiness with plastic surgeon Ian Westbrook though that added to a rift with her police officer sister Stacy who coveted the doctor for herself. Jane becomes even more elated because she now is carrying her beloved Ian’s child.

However, her euphoria ends when the police arrest Ian for murder. Jane refuses to believe her spouse is a serial killer and her belief is substantiated by notes left on her bed by an intruder who refers back to the boating incident. Stacy rejects Jane’s theory that the person who almost killed her years ago is back setting up her husband as part of hurting Jane. Desperate and alone the pregnant Jane refuses to roll over as she investigates.

Though there are too many twists especially a final one that reveals the motive and identity of the killer, fans will enjoy this terse romantic suspense tale that hooks the audience from the moment the first note is found. The support cast enables the audience to further comprehend how Jane feels, especially her fears and dilemmas of what to do. Thus the story line works quite well because everyone (except her sibling) will empathize with what happens to Jane.
