Kathryn Murray is 46 and going through a mid-life crisis. Her husband is often away on business and her youngest son is in China. When Aunt Lucy dies, she has no one left to take care of. Going through Lucyıs things she finds an ancient necklace and an old diary written in German. Searching this puzzle will give her something to do.

The diary might be a missing record of Celtic excavations from the 1850ıs. Too many people want the necklace and the diary, and when someone is willing to rob and perhaps even kill for them, things are becoming dangerous for Kathryn.

This is listed as the first of a series although Sprinkle has written more than a dozen books before this one. Characters are well done in this intelligently written story with a great Southern flavor. For those who donıt know her, Patricia Sprinkle is an author worth checking out.
