This anthology is dedicated to the memory of Sophie Dunbar, who has two stories in it, and is published to raise money for a charity to aid Romanian children.

There actually does not appear to a story called 'Blondes in Trouble' in this collection of short stories, but as the title implies, the unifying aspect, common to all the stories, is the presence of at least one blonde woman. Most of the stories are about modern American blondes - in trouble, causing trouble, sorting out trouble, or doing all three. However a few stories set outside the US or outside the present day. The characters may be natural blondes or bottle blondes, or there may be both in the same story. Blondeness is central to some of the stories, and mentioned more or less in passing in others.

As with any anthology, the unifying theme does not imply a lack of variety in other aspects of the stories. Famous people (Ted Bundy and Marilyn Monroe) appear as fictionalized characters, but most of the stories do not refer to famous dead people. The plots usually, but not always, include murder. The variety means that most people would find something interesting and entertaining to read in this volume.
