This is the fourth book in the 'Bubbles' series. It is not important to read these books in a particular sequence as I read and enjoyed this one without having read the earlier ones.

'Bubbles A Broad' is a light, amusing story in a style similar to that of Janet Evanovich. Bubbles, like Stephanie, is a working class woman with aspirations to a better job, an attractive boyfriend, a despicable ex-husband and embarrassing relatives. Bubbles, a hairdresser, is hoping to become a reporter on her local paper. She is trying to prove her ability as a reporter by writing stories about local meetings (that of the local historical society was particularly disastrous). She is swept into a much bigger story when an escaped murderess (who is possibly an escaped, wrongly-convicted innocent) shows up on her doorstep and asks for help. Bubbles investigates the murder while handling her mother's phone calls, daughter's university applications, boyfriend's work and her own rivals on the job. The author's fast paced plot and light touch result in an entertaining tale which is sure to entertain her readers.
