Sasha Solomon is a Public Relations consultant with hallucinaiton problems, including conversations with her cat. Today is not one of her better days. She let her PR firm slide when she took on a job with an HMO in Albuquerque and now she's been fired. Once again, it is up to her to support herself.

Clovis, NM has asked her to bid on a project for the Chamber of Commerce. As Sasha has an old friend there, Sasha expects to check in with Mae and see her dairy farm. But Mae is having problems of her own. There's a body in one of her stock tanks and aliens are the talk of the area. Aliens and cows????

This is a debut novel for Ms Taichert, and it's a doozy. Shasha has one week to help her friend, find a murderer, and land a PR job to pay her bills. And then, there's the local police detective . . . Well written and plotted, this delightful new amateur sleuth has enough on her plate to keep anyone else busy for a month. With a career that keeps her travelling all over New Mexico [and beyond?] I can see all kinds of possibilites for this series, and I'll be looking forward to the next installment!
