A Culinary Mystery, second in the Heaven Lee series. This book brings back all of the characters introduced in the first Heaven Lee book, Death By Rhubarb and brings in many interesting characters that come to Kansas City for the Barbeque World Series. Heaven and her Que Queens who barbeque for charity are dumped right in the thick of things when they discover the body of Pigpen Hopkins, a top contender in the Barbeque World Series upended in a kettle of barbeque sauce. Heaven runs a restaurant on 39th Street and has a local entourage of friends and neighbors who are amateur sleuths and everyone gets involved in solving the crime as well as trying to locate the lost sauce recipe of Pigpen Hopkins and discover who wanted that recipe bad enough to kill for it. You will be amazed at the number of bad situations that Heaven gets herself involved in and manages to come out in one piece although a little scarred in search of the truth behind the missing sauce recipe and the identity of the killer. The Heaven Lee mysteries are entertaining as well as including some recipes from her restaurant and the World Series of Barbeque.
