The Monastery by Seeth Miko Trimpert is a fast paced book about a woman who is dissatisfied with her life in her present time. Through some soul change and time jumping, she finds herself in the fourteenth century, living in a monastery with ten monks. Her adjustment to this life and the changes of her quality of life make living in that time an attractive proposition. Communication between then and now is bridged by a psychiatrist who is able to connect with the 14th century woman. Details of the life she is leading and the world are provided through conversations held in the hospital where her 'host body' is required to be due to the deterioration of her health.

I enjoyed this book enough to recommend it as light reading. There was enough romance/sex/intrigue to keep the pages turning and the ending was a bit of a surprise. 3 stars
